After finally starting a website, my most recent shoot seems like a perfect first blog post. My favorite part of photography has always been the opportunity to capture people and relationships. This shoot exemplified that in so many ways.
Our session together was one that ended up getting delayed due to the fact that life sometimes happens. I paced the bayou thinking about all the different aspects - low light, exposure, all those fun things. As the photgrapher, it's easy to get focused on all the technical details since, you know, they do kind of matter.
Once we started shooting though all I could think about was how much I love having a job that allowed me the opportunity to look into the mind of a family. Paul David and Katie are a great Christian couple. He's concerned with edifying those around him and wears his love for his family on his sleeve. She is xceptionally loving, down-to-earth, and a constant source of encouragement to everyone around her. Their kids are great too. Tristan is sweet and thoughtful and Elizabeth is just overflowing with life and love (and is now my new BFF after this shoot).
Our time together was filled with all the things I love: genuine smiles and laughter and sweet moments of love for one another.
I'm so thankful I was able to spend this time with them. I loved editing this shoot and just seeing the raw emotion and joy they emit. Here's a peek of some I enjoy!
